Re-opening Update:
With an abundance of love and consideration, I have decided not to reopen our restaurant until the new year. For now, I have chosen to graciously bow out on 2020 and am very much looking forward to a safer and happier 2021.
The uncertainty that lies beyond these much publicised next “three weekends leading up to Christmas” is too great and grave a risk to my staff and the long term survival of my business to justify reopening. The commercial hype lays bare a false sense of security, one which I’m at peace with passing on, just this once.
We miss you all terribly and are so grateful to all who have reached out to share your words & thoughts of love and concern. I am committed to you now more than ever, and that’s why I am making this decision. I am also committed to my wonderful team, whose health and livelihoods I wish to protect and preserve.
Christmas has always been a special time of year for Cupán Tae, as it was TEN years ago this coming Christmas that we opened our doors for the first time. I want to have something to continue celebrating once this is all said and done and so my heart is yielding to my head.
We are busy behind the scenes rebuilding, recreating and reflecting. I remain happily hopeful and hopefully happy. I wish the same for you.
With love, Alison.
